Obamacare: The Largest Tax Increase in the History of the World

Rush Limbaugh speaks for many of us today. The Supreme Court, in upholding the constitutionality of Obamacare, has just validated one of the biggest political scams ever perpetrated on the citizens of the United States.

Said Limbaugh:

What we now have is the biggest tax increase in the history of the world. What we have been told by the chief justice of the Supreme Court and four liberals on the court: Obamacare is just a massive tax increase. That's all it is. Obama lied to us about that. The Democrats lied: "It wasn't a tax. There was no way it was a tax."

We can no longer deny the evidence of our own eyes: Justice Roberts was determined to find a way to preserve Obamacare — regardless of the legal gymnastics required to do so. In declaring the insurance mandate just a tax, he throws his lot in with liberal statists who acknowledge no limit on the federal government's revenue-raising authorities. As Limbaugh says — it's right there in the preamble of the Constitution, in Article 1, Section 8: the general welfare clause. The founding fathers explicitly give Congress the power to tax. And even when the people's elected representatives don't ask for it, the Court strives to find a way to make the government's will the law of the land.

And — voila! — like magic, with the stroke of a pen, it is done:

So Obamacare is nothing more than the largest tax increase in the history of the world. And the people who were characterizing it as such were right and were telling the truth. We have the biggest tax increase in the history of the world right in the middle of one of this country's worst recessions. In fact, as the Vice President said yesterday, a depression for millions of Americans. The Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court, John Roberts, said, "It is not our job to protect the people from the consequences of their political choices." Not our job.

The court's admonishment to the people — speaking to them as if they were children — is galling. We did not come before the bench in search of a get-out-of-jail-free card. We came to be made whole. Surely the court could see as well as anyone else the lengths to which the Obama Administration and the Democrat party leadership — since voted out of office! — went to deceive the public and disregard its wishes in creating this monstrous bill and foisting it on the public. The court has upheld a piece of legislation which was egregiously misrepresented by its proponents. An act of fraud has been validated. Worse, the Internal Revenue Service has just been deputized as Barack Obama's domestic enforcer.
